In response to high demand DECC have taken up CLASP’s offer to host an additional national consultation workshop on ECO and Green Deal.

This will take place on Monday 7th April at the Friends Meeting House in central Manchester. It will be in two parts, covering ECO in the morning and Green Deal in the afternoon.  All interested parties are welcome to attend one or both parts. Please note that due to high expected demand places may be restricted to one representative per organisation.  You will be advised by email if your request cannot be accommodated.

Full agenda and further information available here.

Background information:

In December 2013, the government announced proposed changes to the current phase of ECO and for the extension of ECO to 2017, and launched a consultation on the Future of ECO on 5 March 2014.  This workshop will share the latest plans for the ECO and the Green Deal, and provide an opportunity to participate in the development of these important policies as they move into their next stage.

The ECO Consultation document is available to download at https://www.gov.uk/government/consultations/the-future-of-the-energy-com...

Alongside this, the Green Deal is also being improved to reduce complexity, to make it a more attractive proposition for consumers and to reduce delivery costs for companies.

The workshop will:

•           Provide an opportunity to participate in the ECO consultative process

•           Allow stakeholders to feed in ideas for the development of ECO

•           Look at how Green Deal finance can be made to work most effectively

•           Discuss what more can be done to drive greater integration between the Green Deal and ECO, in particular considering incentives, the private rented sector and top ups.
