Are you planning for zero carbon homes? Nearer to Zero - a one day conference exploring how planners and developers can prepare together to meet the 2016 zero carbon housing challenge. 

Background

Over the last 12 months the government has re-stated its commitment to zero carbon development within the context of new policies emerging on economic growth and housing. At Nearer to Zero: Manchester 2012 the focus will be on the steps that need to be taken now to ensure the delivery of zero carbon housing moves from ambition to reality. 

High level speakers from CLG, industry and local government will be explaining the implications of planning reform on zero carbon housing, the latest information on costs and viability and potential areas for collaboration between planners and house builders.

There will also be a panel discussion providing the opportunity for you to ask questions, share your experiences and explore how some of the approaches featured could be applied to your area.

The event will be of relevance to senior officers and members in planning and building control and other local authority departments.
