The Zero Carbon Hub are hosting a series of Part L 2013 Update, Housing Standards & Allowable Solutions Consultation events this autumn. CLASP is hosting these in the NW and this page is about the Part L 2013 Update and the Housing Standards Consultation.
Government has announced that a 6% reduction in carbon emissions for new build homes, compared to Part L in 2010, will be implemented through Building Regulations in April 2014. While this statement provides a level of clarity to industry, further questions remain on what this 6% will entail.
DCLG will be providing a speaker to outline these changes and to signpost when further details will be availabe for the house building industry.
Within the Housing Standards Consultation, there are a number of questions which will affect the zero carbon agenda. These relate to Energy and Indoor Environmental Standards. The Zero Carbon Hub will use this event as an opportunity to explore and discuss these crucial topics. The Housing Standards Review is proposing to change the house building landscape.
All responses from attendees will be collected and passed directly to DCLG, helping to shape future government policy.
Agenda details to follow.
