The Heat Networks Delivery Unit (HNDU) was established by DECC in Summer 2013, in response to a commitment in The Future of Heating: Meeting the Challenge (published in March 2013).

Since then 50 Local Authorities including 11 from the North West have been awarded over £4m funding through the first two rounds of the HNDU grant programme. The third round of funding will be open for applications in May 2014.

As part of this, CLASP are holding an event with DECC’s HNDU for local authorities, local enterprise partnerships and their partners to:

  • Learn more about the type of support that is available from HNDU
  • Share information and experiences about projects that have received HNDU funding including presentations from Manchester City Council, Liverpool City Region Local Enterprise Partnership, Copeland Borough Council and Britain's Energy Coast
  • Help gear up for future funding rounds and understand what HNDU will be looking for

The main event will be taking place on the morning of Wednesday 7th May. This will be followed by 1-2-1 surgeries with the Heat Network Delivery Unit (HNDU) as well as themed discussion sessions in the afternoon which will need to be pre-booked. Places are limited for the 1-2-1 surgeries and lunch will be provided only for those attending both sessions.
