You’re invited to come and meet with Wirral Council, who have been running the CLASP funded Wirral Resilient Parks Project.  The findings and methods of the project are being made available for all other local authorities to make use of.

What is the Wirral Resilient Parks Project about?

Wirral Council’s Parks and Countryside team and environmental consultants TEP are looking at how to adapt the way Wirral’s parks are managed to cope with changes to the climate, for example more rainfall in Winter and hotter weather in Summer. The project is looking at the five ‘pilot’ parks sites.

What will this meeting be about?

Wirral Council’s Parks and Countryside team and environmental consultants TEP will present findings from the project as follows:

  • The project process: how stakeholders and communities have been engaged in the project
  • Adaptation ideas: how parks sites can be adapted to meet the challenges of climate change
  • Project toolkit for other local authorities: introduction
  • Learning points from the project

There will also be plenty of opportunity for discussion, questions, and looking at the toolkit.
