Join CLASP for this free community engagement event showcasing a number of different projects that local authorities and CLASP have recently delivered either in collaboration with community groups, or to assist community groups with resilience, energy efficiency and renewable energy generation.

The event will include presentations on the following projects:

  • Supporting Low Carbon Communities in Cheshire and Warrington including the Low Carbon Community Network, Renewables Roadshows and Eco Reps Handbook.
  • Sustainable Energy Eden, which explored how local communities in the Heart of Eden could reduce their carbon footprint and how the planning system could support this.
  • Blackburn with Darwen Community Energy Champions, which established a network of community energy champions as a pilot to motivate the community to reduce energy consumption and make their home more energy efficient.
  •  Community Adaptation Training Toolkit developed by Community Forests Northwest and Liverpool City Council.
  • Renewable Energy Community Engagement Toolkit and Training developed by Energy Saving Trust and Neighbourhoods Northwest.

Representatives from each of these projects will share:

  • Details of their projects.
  • Resources developed.
  • Successes and challenges faced.

There will also be plenty of opportunity for you to ask questions and examine if these approaches could be applied to your area.

Please note: North West local authorities can attend free of charge, but places are limited and prior registration is required, so please book early to reserve your place.

Travel & joining instructions: The venue is approximately 10 mins walk from Preston Station and further directions can be found at http://www.newcontinental.net/find-us

Registration will be from 12.30 with a 13.00 start.
