You are invited to this free Planners Shared Learning Group Workshop which will look at increasing your skills, knowledge and confidence of Assessing Low Carbon Development Viability through a series of practice based learning sessions and facilitated discussion with specialist input from Camco. The event will look to cover a number of important issues, including:
- What do low carbon policies mean for viability of developments?
- How realistic is it for schemes to move up the energy hierarchy?
- What are the costs to the developer and how do you go about assessing these?
- Practical examples and experiences
- Viability guidance and additional support required
After the workshop (from 12.30 onwards) there will also be an opportunity to view the PlanLoCal Model which has been developed by the Centre for Sustainable Energy. The PlanLoCaL model measures 4.0 x 0.8m and is a tool for engagement and discussion around spatial planning and the development of a low-carbon future. This will be an informal drop-in session so walk around the model and ask questions.
The workshop and PlanLoCal Model will be of interest to planning officers, building control officers and other local authority officers involved in the planning process.
Please note: North West local authorities can attend free of charge, but places are limited and prior registration is required, so please book early to reserve your place.
