The aim of this event was to provide practical advice and guidance to SME businesses and community groups on how best to develop practical business plans for renewable energy systems and projects to attract finance.

The workshop consisted of theory-based workshops, practical examples and case studies. A financial organisation also delivered a session to explain about any issues and constraints that may affect potential developers.

The practical sessions were run by Mary Walsh of Colbha Consulting. Mary is a renewable energy lawyer with significant experience of developing energy projects and the legal implications of commercial energy development. She has had work published on community based energy projects and has worked with community groups, small enterprises and large utilities across a broad spectrum of renewable energy products.
