Flood Risk and River Basin Consultation Event
CLASP held an Environment Agency “Flood Risk and River Basin Consultation” Event on Tuesday 13th January 2015 in Preston.
The event was attended by 41 delegates, including sustainability officers, strategic planners, planning officers and flood risk management engineers.
Presentations and discussions focused on the Environment Agency’s consultation on Flood Risk and River Basin Management Plans including:
- The areas covered by each FRMP and RBMP and their context in relation to previous plans
- Some of the key issues and challenges facing parts of the North West
- An outline of the measures proposed and the role of Environment Agency, Local Authorities and other key partners in implementing these
- What is being consulted on and what is already ongoing or agreed, including implications for Local Authorities
- How Local Authorities have been involved so far and their input into these consultations
