Delivering Local Energy Networks Event, September 2011

Cheshire and Warrington recently completed a project to demonstrate a step-by-step approach to delivering energy networks, using real example projects from the area. This event outlined the key stages in delivering energy networks of different types and scales – from identifying a potential opportunity through to investigating the feasibility and taking the next steps. Speakers used practical examples of community heating and smartgrids to illustrate the application for towns and cities. Speakers included

Krista Patrick (CLASP) - The Climate Change Skills Fund in the North West

Rachel Waggett (Cheshire and Warrington Local Authorities) – Introduction to Cheshire and Warrington’s skills fund projects and drivers for Local Energy Networks project

Matthew Turner (AECOM) - Summarising Cheshire and Warrington Local Energy Network Roadmap and its application on three case study projects in the sub-region

Michael Smith (Cofely) - Delivering Local Energy Networks on the Ground - with examples of many projects across the UK

David Healey (Smartgrid Solutions) - Smart Grids for more effective energy usage.
